Neal Gozzett has appeal to IOPC (Independent Office for Police Conduct) upheld, which results in the Metropolitan Police being instructed to re-investigate the lawfulness of disclosure to third parties during an investigation.

Furthermore, the IOPC has also directed that the conduct of the Officer dealing with the investigation be analysed, to ascertain if gross misconduct proceedings should take place.
