High profile case discontinued after exhaustive efforts by the defence. The defendant was originally investigated in relation to a number of sexual assault matters, following representations by the defence and a lengthy investigation by the police.

CPS indicated that there was to be “no further action” in relation to cases involving a number of complainants.

However, some charges did proceed to a full court hearing. The court case was eventually discontinued after comprehensive work was completed in relation to factual inconsistencies and expert evidence was obtained by the defence.
