Maria Monan and Mellissa Piggott secure an acquittal at trial for their client, a highly successful entrepreneur falsely accused of sexual assault.

Following an in-depth investigation by the defence team, and having obtained CCTV footage which highlighted that the allegation was factually incorrect and diminished the credibility of the accusation, a jury took just 90 minutes to unanimously find their client not guilty.

Reporting Restrictions

Our application for reporting restrictions during the trial was successful despite orders of this nature very rarely being made in criminal proceedings.

The judge agreed that the restrictions were necessary in this case in order to avoid making prejudicial reports that connected our client to unrelated, high-profile criminal cases.
